Dinner Out, Chicken, Deck, Barbie and Ken

 Sunday ~
After a day of rain,
ALL DAY, on Sat., it
was good to have some sun.
This pic however, shows clouds
which was how the last part of
Sunday was cloudy but it was still
nice.
I actually went out to meet
some friends for dinner.
My drive was one hour and four
mins to there and back, and
I struggled back and forth about
going.
I felt I needed to go, I needed
dose of human company.
But I was not thrilled about
the drive or even just leaving
the house.

You see, with this continuing issue
of not being able to hold my
bladder, I just feel uncomfortable
being out around people.

As you can tell by the outdoor
pic above, I decided to go.
I enjoyed my travel time,
windows cracked, sunroof open,
and music going.
I even enjoyed the trip home
after dark.
Glad I went.

Years ago, Theresa invited
me to an event with some of her
friends that I had not hung with
before. They had this group sort,
an odd mix of folks but it works.
I became a part of that group.
Last night Liz was unable
to make it but the rest was there.
Course Theresa took the pic, making
sure she was not in it.

Left side of the table of course
is me, Nay, Amir (couple), Nancy on
the end, across from her is Kevin,
Tommy, Bre and Dana.
Dana and Kevin are married and
Tommy is Dana's brother.

Proud of Dana and Bre.
Bre had gastric by pass and is
down 120 lbs, Dana has done
it without surgery and she was down
180. She said last night that she
had gained 30 back and was working
to lose that.
CONGRATS to both.

I was raised in a southern home,
brought up with southern
cooking and mom did not
even use spices.
I was a picky teen and did not
get out among folks to try different
foods.

Hanging with this group, you tend
to try different things.
Last night was a Palestine
restaurant. I had no clue what
that stuff was! haha
But I had Shish Tawook
chicken,

 served with "fries"
of all things. Some in the group
had gotten humus and other stuff,
so, taking a few bites of this and
that. I brought my food home.
Also, I had Lentil soup.

I really need to get out
on the deck and make
that bed but every time
I head out, Lily is curled up
on it. I have slats under
the mattress but they tend
to move around causing the
mattress to sink down.
I have some wood in the
shed that I will cut
to fit so that don't happen.

Do you see Lily tucked among
the pillows?
Britney and Cory will be in
the 23rd and I sure would hate
one of them going out to sit
and it crashing in.

I have already thought through
my thoughts for the spring and
the deck.
haha...
I can almost hear
someone saying, "oh,
what is she thinking now"?
This past spring, once the yellow
pollen had died down, I went
out and cleaned the deck..
WOW, so much
yellow crap.
This next spring I think I
will get some cheap shower
curtain liners to hang up
on all the openings of the deck
to prevent a lot of yellow
crap from covering everything.

Deck~ temps are getting so
doable for evenings on
the deck blogging, surfing
FB and setting up the tv again.
I think Cory and Brit will
enjoy that too.

I was tagged on FB with
this...

haha

Pam I love your little nest/nook/bed on the porch!--- nothing beats a PORCH!! Great that it's screened too-- sure helps with the darn bugs. We porch sit all the time and the weather is getting better for it. It's almost Fall!
I'm glad you were able to spend some time with friends. I see you sweet Lily. Oh my, Barbie and Ken are a hoot!

I love your porch. Beautiful. Yes I see Lily. I want your porch.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Pam. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
I'm glad you went. Sounds like a nice time. Enjoyed the photo. I get that about the drive. I am no longer bowling and the drive was an hour. I was supposed to go visit today but my pain is still present. That is wonderful about their weight loss. You dinner sounds tasty. I need to get out more too. Seriously, since the pandemic I just haven't left the house that much except for doctor appointments and bowling. Now without bowling I'm home even more. Better get working on that bed. Ken and Barbie are too cute! Enjoy your day.

Nice that you were able to get out and spend some time with friends. I know what you mean about struggling with whether or not to go though. I usually don't want to but afterwards I'm always glad I did

It is good to get out sometimes even though it feels like a huge effort! Good idea about the shower curtains!

I'm glad you went and had fun, but I understand your hesitation.
Congrats to your friends on their weight loss!

You need to be around people sometimes. It was good you went, but I can see how it was hard to get out. That happens often--once you get someplace you're happy you went, but it's hard to get out.
