Bread, Oranges, Caleb

Written several
days ago.....

Sunday I stayed pretty busy.
I cleaned out the garage area
and emptied boxes. I was
actually able to get the car
in the garage. I still have
boxes in the basement area
and a crap load at the other
house in the living room.

But before working in the
garage I made some roasted
asparagus with salt and pepper
and garlic. On the other end
of the cookie sheet had carrots
that I was roasting only they had
a hint of salt and some brown sugar.
YUM GOOD.

It did not stop there,
I made Depression Bread.

(prob should have hired
a photographer to get a better pic)

I found this bread on FB.
If interested in making
directions below.

Next I made some apple
bread. being that my
bread pans were in use
I put this in a casserole
dish.

I just cut the bread down
the center then I cut in slices.
I froze 1/2.

Directions below.

Had to go to the store Sunday.
I had made a clothe face
mask but in unpacking boxes
I found a whole box of mask
that I had bought for working
and sawing wood. So off
to the store with my mask
and gloves on.

Picked up some oranges
for my tea. Yes, I love
orange squeezed in my
tea.

Now these are about
the UGLIEST oranges
around but the BEST.
Blood Oranges.

Usually I can only find
in the stores for about a month
here in TN. But I found my first
batch a couple of months ago.
Kroger had these so I grabbed
them.

For those who have been
following my blog for
a bit you have probably
heard me state that I love
things on the walls.
If there is a bare wall then
it needs something......
NOT DOING THAT
here at the new house.
I plugged the holes at
the old house....MAN
there were so many
holes! haha.

With that being said, I
have hung things here
at the new house but I
have also started several
boxes of things that are
going...going out of here.
That includes pics I had
removed of moms. If they
were ones I gave her, I kept.
If they were other family
members then theirs is in
boxes in the basement for
them to come and get.

I had taken this pic years ago
and framed for mom.
This is Caleb, 1st grade
at Field Day at his school.

"Professional photographer". Ha! I could recommend someone; I think you'd recognize her in the mirror. Heh... I'm glad you used the fuzzy photo because you cracked me up. And no, I didn't make up the toad. ~snicker~ I added a photo with the creature circled in red a few minutes ago.

Caleb has grown into a handsome, kind looking young man. I am sorry he's coming into adulthood during these difficult times.

~hugs~

Depression bread sounds interesting. Cannot believe how Caleb has grown.
Bread baking in the over always smells so good!

I worry about you, in stores....

Not on computer as much,
due to *achy* back.
But reading some posts,
And hate to read,
Without even a tiny comment.

You're definitely keeping busy. I have yet to bake bread. I've been sorely tempted, though.

I too have been trying to keep busy with projects, including cooking. Will be making a sour cream pound cake tomorrow. Hope it turns out better than my last one!!!! I love pineapple juice in my tea...haven't thought of squeezing some oranges in it but definitely am going to try that soon:) Happy Easter...stay busy, keep wearing that mask, and stay safe:)

Those breads sure do look good.
I sure wish I could get myself to be so productive and get things done around here.

I've been in the baking mode, too. Lemon bread, scones. Maybe madeleines today. There's something healing about it!
Sweet photos of Caleb. Thanks for the recipes.
