HOSH POSH POST....haha

I was born in 1960. According to a site
I was reading on the other day these
two candies were invented that year.

Starburst

and Lemonheads.
Remember the jacket I threw together
from a Goodwill find and some
old curtains?

If not this was the first pic
I took once I had the lace ruffle from
the curtains pinned on.

Thanks to everyones advice I ended
up moving the gathered part on top
of the ruffle to the inside and it looked
so much better.

I got a lot of wear from it already.
The other day I had a friend send me
this pic from a website she found
on PINTEREST.

WOW....I got my idea from PINEREST, not
this pic though. But check out that price!
I got my jacket for 5.99 and the curtains I
have had forever.

Last year I was due to go to Calif. to
visit my son. I was unable to go due to
surgery and retirement. Pay was cut to
49% of what I was making when I was working
thanks to retiring so I have been
saving up money for my next trip.

With that being said, Cory and Brit usually
come to TN the next yr., making this
their year to come but they are going
to be having some work done on the house
so they are not coming this yr., making
me seeing my son at two years.
I was hopnig they were coming to visit
this yr but since they are not and I am
missing them I decided on the spur of the
moment that I needed a CORY fix and
a CORY hug.

He gives the most amazing hugs!

So....I am going to Calif for the first
of July for a week, I will be there for Cory's
bday. Mom will have both Dakota and Lily.
Lily is not afraid of mom's dogs and she just
walks around like she owns the place so I
hope that works.

My beautiful daughter in law.

By the way these two have a
anniversary coming up...
7 yrs.

New pic of the garden.

My Yucca's are about to bust out
in bloom.

First time I ever had this many stalks
at once.

Clematis

Check out my fern on my rock
garden. I found this baby
growing after under part of the deck
and moved it to here.
Was not sure if it would make it
but it is doing great and has
grown some.

Been watching this limb for months
and months. I broke off at some
point and was just stuck hanging in the
trees. I even started parking more towards
the road in the driveway for fear this
would come down on my car.
The other day the wind picked up and
I noticed it came down but it is
just sitting there so I will have
to move it and get it out of
the way before it falls more.

Lambs Ear

Hosta blooming.

Day Lily about to bloom
at the mailbox.

Mom told me that she heard about this on
the news then I read the news report
online here.
http://www.wkrn.com/news/local-news/bobcat-fever-on-the-rise-in-middle-tennessee/1185839989

This is a pic I pulled from that report.

Glad Lily is an indoor babe.
Yes we have Bobcats around the area.
I have never heard of them in my neighborhood
but just 10 mins down the road someone
posted a pic of one in their yard.
We just keep building and running them
out of the area's they called home.
I am scared to even let Dakota out
these days and I worry about the barn cats.

Anyway, my babes are on the deck with me this
morning. It has taken me all morn
to write this blog. I had a visit from my friend
Chris, he stopped on his way to Tractor Supply.
I had texts from one of the barn folks, her horse was
hurt yesterday and almost lost an ear. No clue
what happened there. Vet sewed it on best they
could, will have to wait and see.
Text with other barn folk about filling
in on feedings since someone is going on
vacation, call from Tim at the barn, him and I worked
out a feeding schedule and two calls from
mom. I have a headache, honeysuckle is blooming
along with this horrible smelling bush with
white flowers. I might be taking this party
indoors today!

And life goes on.....and on.....
and on.....

Have a happy day.

You've shared some wonderful photographs here ...

We have just been fortunate to spend a little time with family, and it is so special. When family members live far away photographs are just so wonderful ... I often end up talking to a photograph!!! I'm sure others may do too???

My good wishes

All the best Jan

spring is pollen time, hope it doesn't last long for you.. maybe a bob cat got the horses ears? that is sad and scary, the horses ears and the bobcats losing their environment. I saw a cougar killed a bike rider in WA 2 days ago and almost killed the man riding his bike with him. the woods are shrinking and the animals are getting more and more

So many thoughts in this post but the most exciting is you're coming to California to visit your family. That's the very best part. I'm so happy for you.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the babies. ♥

That's an expensive jacket, under $6 sounds like an absolute bargain in comparison!
Wonderful news about the trip in July - definitely something to look forward to :)

I agree with Debbie about the jacket. And the name of the one for sale made me smile. Beautiful photos and lovely family. So glad you're going to visit! Hope the headache goes away. ~hugs~ Here, my konjac is blooming and smells like death. https://www.leaf.tv/articles/what-is-amorphophallus-konjac/ Had no idea what would happen the summer I bought a little pot of some pretty thing the garden center manager called snake plant due to the stem pattern. It's pretty cool, though, and we have six blooms this year. !!! This morning I mowed the lawn and plan on staying indoors the rest of the day due to humidity. Take care!

The high priced jean jacket? I know a girl who has an etsy shop, and some of the things she comes up with; including the jackets like yours and the pic. I've only ordered one thing from her for a friend. She started out by making "country" style wedding bouquets using burlap. Wow, her business is flourishing and the prices astronomical. Proud of her. Proud of you and your jacket! You've always amazed me.

Lots of pretty things growing in your yard. Things are picking up a little here; we've had rain every day for a week. Hoping it stops soon so I can get out in the yard and dig in the dirt. :)

I'm so happy for you, Pam, that you're going to be able to visit your son. They sure do make a lovely couple, and I know they'll enjoy you as you will them.

You'll be coming to my neck of the woods! You'll just have to reset the whole one year there, next year here thing. Make your son visit you in Tennessee next year ;)
Over here in the UK, Starburst used to be called Opal Fruits... I think they changed the name here sometime in the 1990s. I always loved the strawberry ones and the lime ones :)

Love all of your photos! Never liked Starburst but I did like Lemonhead! What a cute jacket you created! It’s always nice to get together with family. Spring is here and so are the allergies! 🙀 Have a wonderful week! 😁
wow! I was born in 1960 too. Lemonheads, what a blast from the past. I used to love those as a kid. Cory and Brit look like a cute couple. your clematis looks awesome. yeah, i can your being careful with Lily and being worried about the barncats. We have coyotes around here and pets make an easy snack. A cougar has settled into a neighborhood up in northern Tucson -- people have to be careful with their pets because it can jump a fence easily.

Everything looks like it's healthy and blooming down by you Pam. We saw a big ol' coyote yesterday and I thought about my cousin's little dogs who live on that side of town and all the outdoor cats.

P.S. Those are two of my favorite candies and no candy came out the year I was born but the way cool candy necklace came out the next year.
I love the jacket it turned out really pretty! I'm not a big candy eater anymore, but starburst was one of my favorites. Enjoy your visit with your son. Both my girls live out of town so I love every minute I get to see them and the grandkids.
