Christmas Card 2012

Every year I paint my Christmas card on an 8x10 flat canvas board. Then I either scan or take a pic of it and set it up to look like a card with "Merry Christmas" on it. From there, I take it and have 4x6 prints made which is a deal and a lot cheaper than it was when I was having them printed. I got my cards this time for 9 cents a piece for an order over 50 prints. Not bad, cost more to mail than it did for the prints!

After my trip to town today,  visit with the doc, stopping  and picking up breakfast I  headed home.  I had dropped Dakota off at mom's for the day. Forgotten, Old, Square, Coffee and Parada

The other day I mentioned that I  left the house early and  stayed gone for hours, with my  camera. Going to try and work on  my "Forgotten in Hickman Co." album on FB. It is sort of overwhelming that there is so much abandoned  property in this county.  The pic above is on  the main strip and I think it maybe was once a store, or  a place to eat. While I was riding around the county seat of my county, I saw this amazing home. And this one. Centerville has some really old homes. The town was  established in 1823. and in 2020 the population     was 3,489. There is no growth in  this county, the county seat wants to keep it that way.  The town square has more vacant buildings then ones that have something in them. Catchy sign... haha....don't even ask me who the mayor is now either.. not a clue.  WOW.....August sure did move through really fast! Here it is Sept. and the  fall season is knocking on the door, then Halloween and  the holidays will be here. Always heard this stuff flies by the older you get, so  true. CRAP....I  saw this the day after  I painted my Christmas card. I have been thinking of redoing the one I just painted, I  like the idea, but the pulling it off just is not doing anything for me.
