Antique Table
Several years ago my neighbor was
throwing out an old antique table.
I would call it a side table maybe
cause I think it was to small to be a
coffee table.
There was the top of the table, two
legs that went down and
connected into a smaller
wooden piece. Off that
piece were four curved legs
that sat on the floor.
One of the curved legs had broken off so
she was tossing it. I thought even back then
(probably 2002 or 2003) that it could be
used for something more.
I had planned on painting a pic on
the table top but since decided against
that. But my thoughts were always
to make it a tray. As is was, it has
been in a closet all this time.
Here is what happened to the two legs.
I had my brother cut one down so that the size
would not be the same. I then stained a
couple of clay saucers and attached them
to the top. That was it...I did not touch the
finish on them...I like them like this.
Next...
is the wooden piece between the two legs
and the curved four legs. What to do
with it....there were two holes in it
where the two legs attached. I bought
two glass door knobs and put them in
the holes and attached a hook in the center.
This is what all my necklaces hung until
I really got into making more and this
would not hold it all. But I still hang
things on it.
And now....the thing that sat and waited
for years to be redone...the table
top turned tray.
Primed, painted and the stenciling done.
I have attached two cabinet pulls to the
side for the tray handles. All that
is left to do is to seal it so
it will be protected but I could
not wait any longer to share this
with all of you. I love it.
Thanks for stopping in,
Pam
