Day 28 - April 27, 2011 - Storms, Tornado's and Water

Seems to be a weekly thing here in Tennessee
to be under the gun with thunder storms,
lighting, straight line winds and tornados...
Its getting old.

Next week will be the 1st anniversary of
the Nashville floods, this includes
the surrounding counties in TN. also.

1 year ago parts of TN. over a two
day span got dumped on with between
13 to 20 inches of rain.

Mass flooding, homes and business' lost.
And peoples lives changed.

The last two days have seemed like
it might be a repeat but alas in the last
30 minutes I actually see sunlight through
the trees. Maybe that is the end of it for a bit.
Tornado warning and watches every few minutes,
maybe tonight I can sleep for the first time in
two nights.

This is my road and this is what it looked like
when I got home today.

And this is looking off my front porch, past my
car to the creek.
The creek where it runs under the road.
This shot is to show how close my drive is to the creek.
And this is in the backyard of the house across the street.
The creek to show how fast it was moving.
And here you can barely see the tip of
a drink bottle as it floats by.
Hoping Mother Nature gives us a bit of a break.

Thanks for stopping in,

Very glad that the storms streamed up to the east of you, P1. They were to the north of us, and yes, once you've been through a big flood, you tend to run gunshy. But my heart is breaking right now for my friends in Mississippi and Alabama. I've never seen such violent weather, and every year seems to be a bit worse than the last. Over 125 dead in Alabama as of now and over 35 in Mississippi... just heartbreaking. Praying for God's protection over us all...
