Wild Plants, Whales, and Oz in the Garden,

 Due to major amount of
rain, my yard was still
wet on Friday.
So, come Friday afternoon,
I was still chilling and
waiting till later in the
day to cut.

An advantage to not cutting
grass is it allows other
things to grow also.
Friday morning, I grabbed
my shovel, filled a large
pot with soil and dug up some
things that apparently once
grew either in the soil of
my forest or in the hay that
was put over my grass seed.

Dug up and replanted in a pot
of soil in hopes to get them
through the summer and winter,
of the coming yr. so they can
multiply and I can put them in
a garden.

Here is what I found in the
yard.

I also have a lot of
oxeye daisy's so I dug a lot
of this up and replanted in the yard.

Although I have come up
with a way to fix my
water pouring off the back
of the carport and keeping the
yard really wet, I have not
gotten to doing it yet.
To help prevent more soil
washing, I dug up a mass of
the daisy and planted it in
that area. Hope it helps.

Would you believe that I also
have wild muscadine grapes
growing? Who knew?
Maybe instead of their being
stills in the woods of
Hickman County, for making
booze, they made wine?

There are also things that
are coming up here and there
that I will somehow kill off
and not allowed to grow and
produce more. Like ragweed, Japanese
honeysuckle, wild carrots,
Chinese bushclover, bristly greenbrier,
and goldenrod. But it
might take time.

Time to venture off in
another direction,
whales.

This left me wondering just
how long a whale
could live.
That is where the internet
comes in handy.
Answer~ 80 to 90 years,
some up to 100 yrs.
A whale can give birth up to
40 whales in their life time.
They can get pregnant every two
to three years and they carry
for a yr.
WOW...how amazing.

Oh, you know I love this..

However, living on the edge
of these woods, having located
termites a couple of places in the
yard while planting, wood is not
something I want to put
a lot of in the yard. But, I am not opposed
to a yellow brick road!

Maybe this~

Or this....

Probably not, but that is not
to say that I won't come
up with something.

As I scroll FB, I see this.
NEAT.

Oh, if only my body
could keep up with my
mind.
Pam
