Morning on Daybed, Just Me, DJ and his Concern, Clouds, Pics and Beetles
One of those daybed mornings.
Lily woke me before five
and I got up to make sure
she had food in the bowl and
fresh water. How did she wake
me? By doing the low ugly
loud meow that says, I am pissed
Misty is curled up next to you.
GET UP!
I shut the door, went
back to bed. Around 7:30 outside
the door, there is that sweet,
"mom, get up" meow.
I do, I open the back door and
I go back to bed, just for a few
mins please. But no, Lily wants
me up. So, now I have had 1/2 cup of
coffee, I am blogging and I am
listening to the birds. Oh YES,
Lily is curled up, asleep!
Anyway, I am up.
No rain today, haha,
it was drizzling when I got
up and cont for about 15 mins.
Can't do any damage at this point,
everything is so wet from days
of rain, sun, rain, rain, rain,
sun, rain....
you get what I am saying?
I saw this thing, not a meme,
not a quote, what do you call
stuff like this?
Anyway, I saw this on FB
this morning and my mind
went off into one direction,
MOM.
I loved my mom. I miss my mom,
but, don't get me wrong, my
mom and I had our issues.
One of the biggest was who I am.
I am me.
Just me.
I was different than my mom.
I was not her. I had diff ideas,
I had a diff style, I thought outside
the box, as well as in and all around.
Mom did not know how
to relate to me.
That leads me to another on
going conversation that seems to
pop up around here from time to
time.
Several years ago, my middle grandchild,
DJ, proceeded to tell me I
was odd. At which time I smiled and
thank you.
I don't remember what lead up to that
comment but since then, and being
able to spend more time with me,
it has come up more than once.
One time a few weeks ago, Amber,
DJ
and I were sitting at the table,
he asked me was I always
strange. HAHA....
Before I could reply, Amber jumped
in with yes, but she got worse
as she aged.
YEP!
So true. When I was younger
I did not show the real be me, I
did not want to stand out,
I was had no one to help build
confidence.
As I have aged, I have come to realize
that I don't care what others think
about me.
DJ is a brooder, a sensitive guy,
but he keeps all that bottled up.
He will let it out in conversation,
slowly, at his speed and after he has
thought about things.
Apparently, he thought about
the strange going hand in hand
with age and one day he asked his
mom, "Mom will you get strange
like nana when you get older"!!
LOL!
No, she will not, at least not like
me. Why, she is not like me. She has
more of her dad's personality.
Cory, however, I hold out
HOPE!
But with that said, Cory
also holds his own, and like me
in so many ways, he is also,
HIMSELF
where it counts.
Thursday evening gave us
some pretty views while I was
out. The rays were amazing
but did not show up as well in
the shots.
Another hornet in the yard,
Not the same as the one the
other day, but apparently, the hornets
are out and about this yr.
I was told by a friend this
was the Asian Giant Hornet,
not supposed to be in the states.
I contacted the
Tennessee Department of Agriculture,
sent pic and they replied that
the Asian had only been
found in Washington but
there were look alikes.
Okay, so I am assuming that
from my pic, they could tell this
was a look alike and that the
Asian one has not moved
into Tn.
HAHA
who knows!
If you noticed this guy
in the pics before,
this is not a mini
look alike June bug
we used to see a lot of
in the states, this is a
Japanese Beetle.
They are all over my yard
and they are eating
my blackberry bushes and
my Crepe Myrtles.
Found a natural mix on line
that I made up yesterday and
sprayed for them. Gotta go out
and look to see that all is well.
Afraid that if the beetle don't kill
the bushes, my mix might!
Never made this mix or
used it before.
Guess we will see.
Do you use homemade
recipes for things or do you
resort to the chemicals?
Not judging, done both myself.
Pam
