More of Vacation
Still on the Mt.
I picked these fresh blackberries
from a bush at the front of the
lodge. Oh...they were so good.
I know from blogging with you
that some drink and some don't.
I am not a big drinker but the
kids were telling me about this
so I had to try it.
Bday Cake Shots.
You take a shot of
vodka and frangelico,
before taking a breath you
then suck a piece of lemon that
has been covered with sugar.
Taste like bday cake!
I could not believe it and that is
when my son, the nerd said,
mom it's science.....
and liquor!
CB ~Choc Bear gave this to
Cory.
Did I forget to mention that Sunday
the 8th was Cory's 3st bday?
He has thrown this big blow out
bday party for the last 3
yrs.
Here are a few shots around the
lodge.
Mini Pears.
Mini Apples.
Thought this rocker is so cool,
love the wood and metal look.
More metal and wood.
An old light in the hall...
I had to play with getting this shot.,
Sitting at the dinning table looking
out.
Another light, this one above the
dinning table.
Those of you that live in Calif. that
have seen and comment on
my pics of red birds let me say
that we don't have these birds
in TN.
This is a Stellar Blue Jay.
I looked him up.
So once everyone that left the
lodge on Sunday Cory and I
had the place to ourselves.
We sat in front of the fire
outside and talked.
We had some much needed
conversation from our past.
We had pushed it aside for yrs
and we both seemed to be in
a talking mood.
Here is a shot looking
into the fire.
On Monday we ready the lodge
with what we needed to do.
Then headed out off the
mountain. I knew Cory would
want to GO....and I wanted
to drive slow and look
I had my directions to follow
backwards so I told him to go.
On my way down the mt. I saw
this. A type of metal fencing to hold
back the earth of the falling rock from
the side of the mt.
I stopped, of course only after looking
behind me to be sure I had
no one coming up on me on these
winding roads.
After taking the above pic I looked
and noticed something interesing.
Below...
Almost to the bottom I see this
cedar tree deorated on the side
of a rocky hill for
Christmas.
I got to the house, Cory and I hung
out then Britney came home
from work.
Later I look over to see
Cory.
His bday weekend wore him out.
I have to also mention that on the mt.
each person that came brought food.
Enough for all. CB however brought all
the meat for lunch on Sat. He fried chicken
legs and wings.
He grilled pork chops, burgers
and smoked sausage that ...
oh my gosh had some spices
on it that were amazing.
Kyle and Jen brought and cooked
Korean BBQ....wow.....
There was also a lot of casseroles
and food that was set out for
dinner that evening.
Thanks for commenting on my
blog and my pics!
I had a BLAST, my week
went by way to fast and now I
miss my son yet again.
B&W pics to come tomorrow.
