Wedding Gowns

Amber tried on about seven or eight dresses.
She was surprised at what she found herself
liking.
She went in thinking white, no lace, no tulle.
She wanted plain, with a bit of flare at the
bottom.

I thought she needed something around the top, like a sleeve
of some sort.
I picked this one out on the rack and believe it
or not she loved it and had it on the top of the list.
It was covered in lace.

Here she is trying a veil with the top dress.

After trying on several this one above was tried.
This became the new one on the top of the list.
I liked the fit of this one better.
The top is covered in sequins and pearls,
the bottom is covered in tulle.
The fit was great.

She went back and tried on both the top ones.
Finally picking the one above.

This is the dress.
That is one  of her bridesmaids with Amber
and the other of course is me.

Thank you for stopping in,

I was lucky. I had a great friend who was a seamstress and she made my dress and the bridesmaid dresses for me. Bet you had an interesting day trying the dresses on though. Have a good weekend, Diane
What beautiful gowns! So special to pick out just the right one. Very nice photo of the three of you, Pam! ♥

The gowns are lovely! I love the last photo...a day of trying on clothes would have me straight to bed though! :)

I just had to pop back over after reading your great comment to my silly post yesterday. You mentioned 'The Eye of the Tiger' and I have to say that, funny enough, Weird Al sort of ruined that great song with his deli parody, 'The Rye or the Kaiser'. I can't listen to the original without hearing the spoof!

Pam, I remember the "wedding dress" shopping day. It was a long day with the girls trying on different types of wedding dresses. Amber will look lovely on her wedding day. Be sure to show us pictures. Pam, you look great! You lost so much weight - what an inspiration you are!

ps.....Yes, Nel bought a new dress for her wedding, but she used the one I wore on my wedding day, which my mom made. My mom made my dress also, but Nel wanted a special one of her own. : ) Thanks for browsing through the old posts. Sometimes that's fun.

And I'm back again because of another great comment making me want to reply (nothing like having a conversation through blogging, eh?). I thought you might like the purple dress. ~grin~ I'm actually thinking to wear the butterfly gown whenever I want to feel feminine. I went through a goth fashion phase years ago, attending a high school drum and bugle show in full regalia and even going so far as to pick out a new car wearing high heels, black lacy skirt, and a lace up corset style blouse. Nonplussed, the sales guy took me for someone a lot younger and poorer, forcing me to insist he show me the Chevy Malibu instead of the cheaper cars on the lot. ~snicker~ This is perfect for grocery shopping. ~wink~ Don't ya think?
