Banana Bread / Apple Bread

My daughter is 36.5 yrs old but
when she was 7 here
granny got her a cookbook.
We made several things
out of this book.
But one that I have made
a lot over the years has
been the banana bread.

The first time I made it I realized
that it was missing some
special ingredients...
like cinnamon.
So I decided to add that
all with nutmeg  and
allspice. Pretty good stuff.

The other day I thought maybe I
should make apple
bread using the directions
to the banana bread but
putting canned apples
instead.

It turned out
GREAT.

If you want to give it a try here
are the directions.

Banana Bread or Apple Bread
3/4 cup sugar - I used raw stevia
1 1/2 cup mashed bananas (3larger)
or one 21 oz can of apple pie filling
3/4 cup veg oil
2 eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup nuts (if you like)
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Heat over at 325
grease loaf pan 9x5x3 with spray grease
Mix sugar, bananas, oil and eggs in
large bowl with wooden spoon.
Stir in the remaining ingredients
Pour in pan
Bake until wooden tooth pick
inserted in center comes out clean.
60 to 70 mins.
Let cool 10 mins
Loosen sides of loaf pan and remove bread.
Let cool before slicing.
Makes one loaf.

Enjoy!

Brothers Surprised Bday Party

It is not often that you can
pull anything over on
my oldest brother Ray, but
my sis in law Lori was able
to pull off a surprise bday
party for him.

You see Ray's bday is on the 23rd
and Lori's daughter Jessica's bday
is on the 24th.

Lori told Ray that Jessica
was having a party at their
other home and they
needed to take her gift
to her and check on things.

Ray and Lori coming in carrying
Jessica's birthday.

This is about the time Ray
realized it was for him.
(flash did not fire, so
photo not so good).

He was SURPRISED.
Folks he had not seen in
years were there.

This is the cake the one
of my best friends bakery made.
Nice job.

I took banana bread
and apple bread and some
brownies.

This is the cake that
Julies bakery made for
Jessica.

Some of the balloons I blew up
and fixed up the house with.

Guys that Ray worked with.

Wayne and Shelly.

Jessica is the blonde with pink
in her hair.
She turned 25.
Cobi, Ray's son in the hat.
Sean is the other guy, Lori's son.
And one of Jessica's friends.
The littlest guy is Cole,
my great nephew.

FUN, FUN,
FUN...
in the pic below is Ray's college
roommate Witt and his wife.

More folks Ray worked with.

My sis in law, Lori and Jessica.

Cole looking out to his
Papa (Ray).

My niece Paige, her hubby Adam and
Cole.

Brother and sis....Chase and Paige.
Congrats to Paige also, not only
did she recently get her masters
in Agricultural Science she just
got a teaching job last week.
She will be teaching at Columbia
State Community College starting
in August. So proud of her.

There were lots more pics I took that
evening. I will be burning to a disc for
Ray later today.

So excited that the party was a
total surprise for him!

On another note...I am off cat
feeding/sitting duty for my
younger brother Mark.
They got back in from
Fla. yesterday.

Today I am playing catch up.
I slept most of the day yesterday
due to the fibro so I really
need to try and get something
done today.
Wish me well with that...

Another All Round Post

Still on the color kick for doors and
stuff! HAHA

This painted lady is just a couple
of blocks from my house.
Hard to tell all the different colors.
Need to take my camera over to
get a better shot.

Saw this one the other day...that color is popping.

And this is a bright blue!

I think I posted this pink one the other day....

So yesterday was the party for my
brothers 60th bday.
It was catered and one of
my oldest friends who owns
a bakery made the cakes.

But....I made banana bread and
apple bread to take.
Picked up some cookies
and sweet and unsweet tea
also.

Nope...I have not loaded the pics
yet but I will do my best to
get to that tomorrow.

Found some cool
mailboxes the other
day. A gaggle of geese!

This one is really cool.

60 lbs down.
And of course the black
is slimmer.

Been feeding my brothers black cat
Zora while they are in Fla.
and their other cat Zuzu
is staying at moms.

Zu was found under my
brothers shed last yr. She
was about 3 weeks old.
She is what the vet called
a tortoise shell cat.
My daughter works at a
vet and says they are the
worst for having a
cat-a-tude!
Believe me Zuzu has
her days!

Zuzu

Not been crafting or building
my lately. Fibro has really been
kicking but I found this
out in the shed.

Its the back of an old rocker
my sis in law gave me to play
with. The rocker was in really
rough shape so I took it apart and
stored it in the shed.

Yesterday I decided that it would
be a cool towel rack in the
kitchen.

Be sure and read the white towel.

BDay Clock...Ray

Wanted to make my brother
a clock for
his bday but could not
locate anything I wanted
to make it from...

So off to Cracker Barrel
to get him something
and ran right up on this
clock for his desk.

Too cute.

Sis in law arranged a surprise
bday party for him.
60 yrs old and the first
time anyone has pulled
anything like that over on
him.
NO CLUE.

Pics to come later.

All Around Post

I never seem to do just a plain old
post on just one thing anymore!

Daughter asked for a tall table
for her boyfriend for Fathers Day.

Apparently he has a lot of Hank Jr. stuff that
she wanted the table for.

Not bad for the first time building. Hope it
don't fall apart!
:)

My Egyptian Bean Vine has really taken
off and crawled right up the baby bed
treills. I love it.

The blooms on my vine.

My marigolds finally came up and bloomed.

Now is not too cute.
t
While taking care of Zora, my sis in laws
cat while they are away....I stepped out
of my nieces bathroom when I filled the
bowls today and got the crap scared out
of me.
Yep...its Harry Styles from One Direction!

After that I took a look around the room...
Love it when I see things I have made.
Holly loves Wicked and actually introduced
me to the play. So I painted this for her
a couple of yrs ago.

I think I gave her this one for her 16th bday.
She loved it so I made sure she got it.

Went shopping at Cracker Barrel today. They
have usual and cute gifts.
Did not get anything made for my
brothers Bday so I went and
purchased something. Will post
that after I give to him.

Almost got this for me...it is a key ring and would
go awesome in my collection and it is just
like the camera I had at 12.

Might get the boys this for part of their Christmas.

Love, love, love this. For the soap in the
bathroom....

That is it for my all around post.
Sorry to jump from this to that.
