Cicadas, Trees in Bloom, Lily Bit, and Caldrons

Image
OH YAY... going to get fun and really interesting. There are two types of cicadas in the world, one  that emerges every 17 years and another every 13  years. In 2024, both are coming up  from the ground for the first time in 221 years!  INFO:  http://kwtx.com/.../rare-historically-massive-cicada.../ Have you ever experienced Cicadas? Just one type can cause so much noise, two types, going to get really noisy around  here. Neither Lily or Misty have experienced  the CICADAS! OH MY... My neighbor that moved when I moved in has all sorts of trees in his yard. A Bradford Pear, but next to it, there is a Cherry Blossom. Both right next to my driveway. Knowing I suffered all week from allergies from the Bradford Pear, dummy me can't help myself. I saw the Cherry Blossom  in bloom and of course, while sneezing my head off I go over to take pics. These are some from the phone, but if that was not bad enough, I went back in and got the big camera. I will load them to the computer this even

Neighbor, Braden and the Girls, and The FORGOTTEN in Another County

Image
On Wednesday afternoon,  Braden and I went  down the road a bit and met one of my neighbors. We knocked on the door but got no answer, but we fed this guy a couple of carrots. I hope to meet the family in the house soon and maybe they will not mind if B and I stop from  time to time to say hi to this guy. These pics were taken on Tuesday. B laid down to watch tv and  Lily Bit joined him.  I had to take pics cause B has been trying to get  close to my cats for a long time. He dozed off. And Lily came back to nap near him. Misty even came out for  some B time, that is not  a normal cause she  goes into hiding when  someone comes over. I found this  FORGOTTEN house but its not in  the county I am living in. Lots of homes up this way that are FORGOTTEN. If these places could talk! Have a great day.   Pam

Books, Buildings, Gates and Lily

I saw something on FB about clearing out old books, that is what sent me off  on this post. (pic from internet) Do you hold onto old books? WHY? Do you re-read them? I used to hold on to books I have  read. But then I thought about it and  asked myself, "why"? Now, I do not. I might keep a couple of good ones here and there, or one that is full of info. But generally, I let them go. I have also started going back to the library so that all I have to do is take the book back and not even be tempted to  hold on to it. When I was dropping hints about cleaning, or freezing  onions I remembered this book. Yep, this is one I have kept  over the years. I don't remember where I got it, but I held on to it... and as you can tell, I  flipped the cover often! Going to flip through  it again and see what hints I read about at the age of  19 and see if any can be  applied now. Yes, I will share! I held onto a couple more books that I will share later. Why later, cause I have to get u

Two Weeks/Alternative School, and Safari Park

Image
Blogging ahead of time messes with me cause I feel like I have to explain what day it is when I  write the post.... haha.. so this is Sunday night. My Monday will be  different than normal, actually the next two weeks will be. Why? Well, my  youngest BRAT  grandson, got his butt in trouble at school, and being that there is  a no tolerance thing, he is going to alternative school for two weeks, for fighting. He was being silly with one of his best friends about a  girl that was not really the kids girlfriend, in kid hit B and  B hit him back. Funny thing,  this happened over a week ago but some kid got it on  video and turned it in. And thank goodness I moved here when I did, not sure what Am would do. SO....I will be meeting Am at 7, taking him to school and picking him up at 2:30. He will be doing some work with Nana after school till mom picks him up. With that said, if the weather allows it, we have trees to plant. a corral for the trash cans to finish  and a mailbox to finish pu
